I really want to
make more of an effort with my Show Notes.  I'm delighted by all the emails and support I am receiving from you and I want to make the website a little more informative and appealing.  This may take time, so bear with me.

We seem to have fixed our problems with recording phone interviews as you will find out when you listen to the interview with Tracy Dower.  I look forward to talking with more people who are devoting their time and resources to keeping mothers and babies attached and receiving the best nutritional start in life.  People who are making a significant difference, but who are rarely acknowledged by the mainstream media.  If you are one of those people, then do get in touch.  We want to hear from you.

Tracy's website -  to find out more about the Mamatoto Project and wearing your baby -  is www.wearyourbaby.com

Tips for Calming a Crying Baby
There are many books available, but only a few good ones, that acknowledge your baby as a human being who deserves to be comforted, rather than telling you to go against your instincts  and ignore the crying.  This will be a whole show topic in the future, but for now, books that will help you and your baby include

If your baby's crying is wearing you down, then please find support from someone who believes in breastfeeding and your baby's need to be with you. If you don't know anyone, then contact your local La Leche League Leader, or another breastfeeding counsellor.  Your baby loves you and needs you - it's not anything personal against YOU.  This difficult time will pass.

Hi Sara,
I just listened to show #5 today (during my workday pumpings). Keep up the good work, they keep getting better (especially with the new interview equipment; it sounded perfect). I enjoyed the babywearing segment; I've been wearing my son in a Bjorn from the beginning and since 5 months in a Chinese Mei Tai, and it's just the best; I really identified with your discussion. It is a very complementary topic to breastfeeding.
Another possible topic idea for a future show is introducing solid foods and how it affects the breastfeeding relationship. So many of the "mainstream" baby resources seem to assume that babies have been weaned to formula by now, but even from sites like LLL I haven't found that much on the topic. Just an idea from a curious mom.

Looking forward to show 6!

Hello Sara! I found your podcast yesterday at the iTunes web site and listened to all 5 shows today. You have such great information! My daughter, Rebecca also, was exclusively breast fed until 6 months and we are still going strong at 10.5 months. Thank you for the podcast and for being such a supportive voice for breastfeeding mothers.

Thanks you so much for your lovely comments! I AM coming back! Like all of us, sometimes family needs are overwhelming, and when this happens, it has to take precedence. But I'm planning on getting another show out soon, and hopefully then getting back into the rhythm of doing regular shows. Hearing from you all is motivating me to put the headphones back on.

Very best wishes,
Sara!

Hi Sara,

Love your podcasts and wanted you to know that your loyal listeners are eagerly waiting for the next one. I particularly like your interviews and love that your show covers things of interest beyond "getting started breastfeeding." I feel moms in our culture need as much support to keep going, if not more, than to get started. Anyway, keep up the good work, I really appreciate your show.

I'm a nusing mom from Montreal, Canada. I want to let you know that your podcasts reached this part of the planet as well. I truely enjoy the show and specially appreciate the improvement of the sound quality. It really makes a difference for listeners whose native language is not English.

Please keep on going because lots of us are waiting for your return!

Thank you, Sara.

I'm enjoying your podcasts.
I feel connected to a larger community of nursing mums.
I didn't find nursing easy and I had to perserve through periods of real discomfort.
Boy, was it worth it.
Finally at 12 mths, nursing became a breeze.
I'm still nursing my toddler of 15mths day and night and I'm planning on child lead weaning (full-term breastfeeding).
I find nursing brings wonderful opportunities to relate with my busy toddler one to one, eye to eye and smile to smile.

best wishes

Sara, I just got into podcasting and was so excited to come across your podcast listed on iTunes! I've listened to all your shows now and am hoping that there will be more. There was no indication that show #5 was going to be your last one so hopefully you will have time for more soon!

Thanks so much!

I'm very happy to be using a segment from your podcast on Babywearing in a lesson plan for 5th grade students covering cultural diversity. Tracy has a great short spot about how to respond when people are unfamilar or unsure about the safety of different styles of baby carrying %-)
